Commercial Trainee

As a Trainee in the field, this position works closely with, and takes direction from, lead Techs and Foremen. Trainees are taught how to fabricate commercial items needed for projects and/or installation of commercial products. Trainees are also trained in our general processes and safety protocols.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fabricate and install metal systems/frames and products in accordance with company installation standards.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with company safety programs and procedures.
  • Load trucks and maintain inventory.
  • Follow work schedules.
  • Assist with keeping the shop clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

DRIVING RECORD

  • Must maintain a current driver’s license and driving record must qualify for insurance under the Company’s current carrier and policy. Deviation from this requires the approval of the Manager of Commercial Operations.

 

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • None

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:     

  • Demonstrate the willingness to learn how to work and solve problems.
  • Capable of reading, writing and speaking in English.
  • Able to communicate adequately and follow directions.
  • Possess a common-sense knowledge in the use of the products, tools, and procedures utilized in the trade.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and a desire to produce, quality work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Able to maintain a squatting position for extended periods.
  • Able to stand up to 8 hours a day.
